Your lawn is the focal point of your home landscape. A well-kept lawn makes an outdoor living room during the summer months and is pleasing to the eye from early May until late autumn, and thus it provides the setting for not only flowers, trees and shrubs, but also fond family memories.
The lawn is the first item that should be considered when planning the beautification of your home landscape. Shellview Sod Farms can help you achieve the lawn that best compliments your home. Family owned and operated, and serving Saskatchewan for 47 years. We farm quality sod.

Installation
The optimal period of time for installation if from early spring to the fall freeze up.
SOD MUST BE INSTALLED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER DELIVERY.
DO NOT LEAVE SOD IN ROLLS BECAUSE IT IS A PERISHABLE PRODUCT.
Lay sod in a staggered rotation. Make sure the edges meet and the ends do not overlap. If necessary, trim the ends with a knife. On slopes, lay sod up and down. On steep slopes, it may be necessary to peg the sod to prevent it from washing away in heavy rain.
Begin watering as soon as possible, do not wait. Sod needs water within the first hour of being unrolled. Water the sod thoroughly until water penetrates and reaches subsoil moisture. Repeat this every two or three days depending on the weather. Try to avoid getting the sod so soft that it is "squishy". Use a roller on the sod after watering. Avoid rippling, which occurs if there is too much water in the roller or if the sod and surface is too soft.
You should receive a Shellview Sod Farms "Guide to Greener Grass" with your purchase. This guide is tailored to walk you through general site preparation, sod installation, watering your new sod as well as maintaining your investment. If for any reason there are questions further than this guide covers, or if you did not receive one, please feel free to contact us during business hours.
